1pm: ‘J. M. Staniforth and the Cartooning the First World War Project’ by Rhianydd Biebrach
Cartooning the First World War is an online project which brings together all the wartime newspaper cartoons of Joseph Morewood Staniforth.
2pm: ‘Saving our Welsh film heritage: two forgotten films from the First World War’ by Iola Baines and John Reed
This talk by staff of the National Screen and Sound Archive of Wales relates to two recently rediscovered films, the Hepworth Cinema Interviews of 1916 and The Life Story of David Lloyd George of 1918.
3pm: ‘Swansea during the Great War’ by author Bernard Lewis
Bernard Lewis’s recently-published book Swansea in the Great War looks at how the outbreak of war in 1914 impacted on Swansea. In this talk, Bernard will speak about the research he undertook for the book and his findings.
